    To help draw the audience.

The finale is the actual 2 guys who make it to the final fight. Since there are only 2 bouts of this, they have to fill the card with some compelling fights to keep ratings and people interested.

Most of the time the undercard of the finale is full of matches of guys from the show. But in a sense most of those guys don’t really deserve to, or have earned a spot on a main card yet.

The show isn’t a strong enough card to draw the full MMA crowd to any venue. If they only had TUF fighters, the crowd would be watching guys that they have seen lose to each other. There’s no hype, no commercial value there.

So Zuffa brings in some high profile fighters to strengthen the card – Sanchez and Diaz are crowd pleasers and former TUF contestants. They fill seats!

Because they want to make sure there is some high class stuff. Most of the contestents don’t get a contract

It’s never just had the contestants.
Tuf 1 had Franklin vs. Shamrock

Be happy. Sanchez vs. Guida is a PPV caliber match.

all of the fighters are pro fighters before the ultimate fighter. But they add fights with known fighters to bring in more viewers.

All the contestants on the show are pro fighters with pro victories. Not all of them are good enough to fight in the UFC yet. Only a handful get fights on the finale card.

so there will be a crowd, just like any other ufc event you have to have undercards
