i think hes going to get knocked out in his first fight and dana only wants to put him on the show because he is going to attract many viewers. Dana has already stated a million times how much he thinks kimbo sucks. He doesnt respect him as a fighter at all. Lidell said something like if you let me fight people in the streets like kimbo i can make some impressive knockout videos too. Hes totally right.
He has a great shot if he stays out of Roy Nelson’s way. Alot of people don’t take him serious/respect him because Elite XC tried to make him the poster child of mma when he was notoriously known as a “street fighter” meanwhile he lost to an mma fighter (Sean Gannon).
that being said, Kimbo has some tools (punching power, sprawl) and he is taking mma serious. I think with his strength and athleticism, he can make it into the semifinals.
If you look at the cast that was listed, there are some fighters in there who (in my opnion) are less talented like Wes Sims.
Of course. Who wouldn’t stand a chance? He’s going to be coached by a former Light Heavyweight Champion. He’s going to get a lot better. That being said, who knows how he’ll do. I think he’s motivated to prove he’s a legit fighter.
FYI: Dana also said that he never thought Kimbo would take a spot on the Ultimate Fighter and he respects him a lot as a fighter for putting his money where his mouth is.
Basically, there’s no way to tell, but I know that by the end of this Kimbo will be a much better fighter than he was beforehand, especially since they no longer get kicked out the house and they get to continue to train even after a loss.
One thing you can’t argue is that a lot of people will watch. Some to wish him well, others to see him get KTFO. It will probably be one of the most watched TUFs ever.
I don’t think he’ll win it, but I think he’ll win a fight or two.
Dana White is taking out the ‘fight to get on the show’ routine because he wants to keep Kimbo on the air. That shows how little faith the head of the company has in the guy. I don’t think he will win one fight, but hopefully he doesn’t get beat up too bad, he seems like a nice guy, just is out of his league.
Well i have to correct myself because i don’t think any of the other guys will know what they are doing either. I say he will win one fight, there, thats my prediction
As much as I hated the hype that followed Kimbo, I am looking forward to seeing him fight some people that don’t make it look like they were paid to throw the fight. Kimbo has the size, power and has trained with Bas Rutten. If he’s dedicated to the sport and tries to evolve as a fighter, he might do good with his time in the UFC.
I personally don’t care how many street fights he has been in before.
I want to see some true skill against real opponents.

he will be sliced and diced.

it’s already over, isn’t? i think they sign contracts to not discuss the outcomes
I would LOVE to see Kimbo win it all it would be a total bitch slap to Dana White
